Colonial Maple Nut Cake
Ingredients
Cake
- 1 package Pillsbury plus white cake mix
- 1 cup water
- 1/3 cup oil
- 3 eggs
- 2 teaspoons maple extract
- 1/2 cup nuts, chopped
Glaze
- 1 cup confectioners sugar
- 2 tablespoons oleo, softened
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/4 teaspoon maple extract
Instructions
Instructions
- Grease and flour 10" tube ____fluted tube pan
- In large bowl blend cake ingredients except nuts until moistened
- Beat 2 minutes at highest speed
- Fold in nuts
- Pour into prepared pans
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 45 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean
- Cool upright in pan for 25 minutes
- Turn onto serving dish
Glaze
- Blend glaze ingredients in a small bowl until smooth
- If needed, add a few more drops of milk
- Spoon over cooled cake
- Garnish with chopped nuts
