Bigg Lettuce Salad

Bibb Lettuce Salad


  • ¼ cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon snipped chives
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ teaspoon Dijon-style mustard
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 3 to 4 heads Bibb lettuce


  1. Place vinegar, chives, salt, Worcestershire, mustard and pepper in small bowl.
  2. Gradually add oil, beating constantly, until mixture is slightly thickened.
  3. Refrigerate covered at least 1 hour but no longer than 24 hours.
  4. To serve, arrange lettuce on individual plates.
  5. Pour dressing over salads to coat lightly.
