Every once and a while you can find a good cookbook with Vintage Recipes on Amazon. I don’t have any recommendations as I haven’t bought any as I prefer the handwritten recipes that you see on our site.
 

 


 

Asparagus Piquant Recipe

Asparagus Piquant

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup soft bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 3 slices bacon, diced
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • 1-½ pounds asparagus
  • Salt
  • 3 tablespoons wine vinegar

Instructions

  1. In small skillet, brown crumbs in the butter; set aside.
  2. In same skillet, cook bacon with garlic until crisp and browned. At same time, cook asparagus in boiling salted water by any preferred method, drain and put in hot serving dish.
  3. Remove garlic from skillet, add vinegar to skillet, heat and pour over asparagus. Sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Makes 4 servings.
