Marble Cake

Marble Cake


  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs, unbeaten
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1½ Squares Rockwood's Premium Baking Chocolate, melted


  1. Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  2. Melt chocoalte in top of double boiler; then let cool.
  3. Cream butter well and add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy.
  4. Add eggs separately, beating after each addition.
  5. Add flour mixture alternately with milk, then vanilla.
  6. Pour 2 cups of batter into a greased bread pan 5x8x3.
  7. To remaining batter combine well cooled melted chocolate.
  8. Stir very lightly through white batter to give mottled effect.
  9. Bake in moderate oven.
  10. Frost with Jiffy Fudge Frosting (See Frostings.)


Bake at: 350°F

Time: 1 hour

Amount: 5x8x3 Cake
