Virginia Raisin Pie

Virginia Raisin Pie


  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs (save whites for meringue)
  • ½ cup raisins
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 Tbs butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla


  1. Stir sugar into milk and put in pan over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  2. Beat egg yolks and then add a little of the warm milk to the eggs.
  3. Stir the eggs into the pan.
  4. Add raisins and when all is warm, add butter and vanila and put into partially baked eight-inch pie shell.
  5. Bake in 400° oven until egg is set.
  6. Let pie cool, then make meringue.
