Viennese Crescents (VRP 034)

Viennese Crescents
  • Vanilla Sugar
  • 2 – 3 vanilla beans, cut into 1″ pieces
  • 1 pound confectioners sugar
  • Dough
  • 1 cup butter (a must)
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 pound ground nuts
Vanilla Sugar
  1. Cut 2 – 3 vanilla beans into 1″ pieces
  2. Place in jar with 1 pound confectioners sugar
  3. Let stand for 2 – 3 days
  1. Cream the butter and sugar
  2. Add the vanilla
  3. Blend in the flour and ground nuts
  4. Knead dough smooth and shape 1 teaspoon at a time into crescents 1 1/2″ long
  5. Bake 15 – 17 minutes at 350 degrees on ungreased cookie sheet
  6. Cool for 1 minute and then roll in confectioners sugar
