The corn syrup is used to sweeten this Sugarless Chocolate Cake.
Not a fan of corn syrup? You can replace 1 cup of light corn syrup with 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water or other liquid used in the recipe.

Sugarless Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 6 tablespoons honey
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 7 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
Instructions
- Mix and sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt
- Cream the shortening thoroughly
- Drizzle in corn syrup and honey
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
- Add vanilla and chocolate
- Add the flour mixture alternatively with milk, beating well
- Bake in two 9" greased wax paper lined pans
- Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes
