The corn syrup is used to sweeten this Sugarless Chocolate Cake.

Not a fan of corn syrup? You can replace 1 cup of light corn syrup with 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar dissolved in 1/4 cup hot water or other liquid used in the recipe.

Sugarless Chocolate Cake

Sugarless Chocolate Cake

Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes


  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 6 tablespoons honey
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 7 ounce package semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk


  1. Mix and sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt
  2. Cream the shortening thoroughly
  3. Drizzle in corn syrup and honey
  4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition
  5. Add vanilla and chocolate
  6. Add the flour mixture alternatively with milk, beating well
  7. Bake in two 9" greased wax paper lined pans
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes
