Split Pea Soup Recipe

- 2 cups split peas
- 2½ qts. water
- 2 onions, diced
- 1 carrot grated
- 2 stalks celery sliced thin
- 2 sprigs parsley (1 t. dried parsley)
- 2 sprigs dill (1 t. crushed dill weed)
- 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2½ t. salt
- ½ t. pepper (black)
- 1 cup milk
- 1 T butter or margarine
- Wash peas and combine with water, onions, carrot, celery, parsley and dill.
- Cover: bring to boil and cook over low heat 2½ hrs.
- Add potatoes, salt and pepper.
- Cook 15-20 min. - stir in milk and butter, bring to boil.
- Remove and serve
