Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 2/3 cup flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
Instructions
  1. Beat the shortening, sugar, and vanilla
  2. Add the eggs and beat well
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg
  4. Add the sifted dry ingredients alternatively with sour cream
  5. Roll dough 1/4″ thick on a floured surface
  6. Cut with 2″ cutter
  7. Place on greased cookie sheet
  8. Bake at 425 degrees for 8 minutes
