Shrimp Fondue Casserole

Ingredients

  • 8 slices white bread with crust removed
  • 2 cups small sized prepared shrimp
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup green peppers, finely cut
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 cups milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 cup fresh mushrooms, sauteed in butter
  • Grated cheese
  • Paprika

Instructions

  1. Dice the bread and place half of it in 8 1/2" x 13" baking dish
  2. Combine the shrimp, mayonnaise, onion, celery, and green pepper
  3. Spread the mixture over the bread
  4. Cover with remaining half of the bread cubes
  5. Mix the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together and pour into baking dish
  6. Refrigerate overnight
  7. Bake at 325 degrees for 15 minutes
  8. Mix the soup, sauteed mushrooms, cheese, and paprika
  9. Remove from oven and spread the mushroom mixture over the top
  10. Return to the oven and bake for 1 hour or until mixture tests done
