Savory Pot Roast
Yield: 8 servings

Savory Pot Roast

Cook Time: 1 hour 55 minutes
Additional Time: 5 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours


  • Meat (use any roast or beef left whole or cut up in strips)
  • Salt
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon rosemary, dried and crushed
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 8 small carrots halved lengthwise
  • 8 small potatoes
  • 8 small onions
  • 1 package (9 ounces) frozen peas


  1. Sprinkle meat with salt and brown in oil
  2. Combine the sauces and spices
  3. Pour the sauce / spice mixture over meat
  4. Add vegetables
  5. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes
  6. Continue cooking until desired doneness adding water as needed
  7. When nearly done, cook down sauce
  8. Let stand 5 minutes before serving from pan
