
Salt Beef
Ingredients
- 100 pounds of beef
- 9 pounds of salt
- 1 pint molasses
- 2 ounces black pepper
- 2 ounces salt peter
Instructions
- Pack meat in a jar as tight as possible
- Dissolve the salt, molasses, pepper
- Pour over meat then cover well with boiling water put on a weight
- Cover to keep steam in 24 hours
