Rice Pilaf With Cherries and Almonds Recipe

Rice Pilaf With Cherries and Almonds
Yield: 12 servings

Rice Pilaf With Cherries and Almonds

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • 2 cups uncooked rice
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 can (14 ounces) vegetable broth
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries

Instructions

  1. Toast almonds - cool and stir in non-stick skillet over medium heat until lighted browned.
  2. Cool
  3. Melt margarine in skillet over low heat.
  4. Add rice and onion
  5. Cook and stir ___ ____ lightly browned
  6. Add broth and water
  7. Bring to boil
  8. Reduce heat to low
  9. Simmer covered for 15 minutes
  10. Stir in almonds and cherries
  11. ___ until liquid is absorbed
