Potato au Gratin (VRP 034)

Potato au Gratin
Ingredients
  • 3 tablespoons oleo (butter)
  • 5 – 6 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced (about 6 cups)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 4 ounces cheddar cheese, shredded (1 cup)
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs, fresh
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees
  2. In a 12″ x 8″ baking dish melt the butter in the oven
  3. Remove from the oven
  4. Add the potatoes and salt
  5. Toss ingredients together and arrange potatoes in even layers in baking dish
  6. Sprinkle with cheese and bread crumbs
  7. Cover with foil
  8. Bake for 20 minutes
  9. Uncover and bake for 15 minutes more or until potatoes are tender
