The date stamp shows that it was sent March 1968 to Mrs. Harry Sowers of Willard, Ohio.

COOK’S NOTES

  • You can also put all the ingredients in the shell and mix with your fingers but it takes longer to bake
  • For larger pie increase milk to 2 cups and 3 1/2 tablespoons flour
  • Can use canned or skim milk
  • Leave out butter if you wish
  • Also, cinnamon can be used with nutmeg in place of it

Old Fashioned Cream Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cream or milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan combine the sugar, flour, nutmeg, and salt
  2. Add milk, butter, and vanilla
  3. Warm mixture
  4. Pour into unbake pie shell
  5. Bake for 10 minutes at 400 degrees
  6. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 30 minutes or until the center puffs up
