Vintage Recipe Box 155 is a metal recipe box with two cross-stitch birds on the front.

Based on the information we found inside, we THINK the box originated from Alabama with ties to Virginia and Georgia.

The recipes are not too old with the oldest ones we have found so far are dated starting in the early 2000s.

Mushroom Quiche Recipe

Mushroom Quiche

Mushroom Quiche

Cook Time: 35 minutes
Total Time: 35 minutes


  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons minced shallots
  • 1 pound mushrooms, thinly sliced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese (2 ounces)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a large skillet, saute shallots 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally
  3. Stir in mushrooms, 1 teaspoon salt, and lemon juice
  4. Cover and simmer over lower for 10 minutes
  5. Uncover, increase heat and boil 5 - 10 minutes until liquid is completely evaporated and mushrooms begin to saute, stirring often.
  6. Beat eggs, cream, pepper, nutmeg, and 1/2 teaspoon salt
  7. Add mushrooms
  8. Pour into shell
  9. Top with cheese and dot with 1 tablespoon butter
  10. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until quiche is puffy and knife inserted comes out clean
