Mrs. Dunkels Christmas Cookies Recipe

Mrs Dunkels Christmas Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 cup Crisco
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 3 eggs, well beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 3 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoon lemon rind
- 1 teaspoon soda dissolved in 3 tablespoons hot water
- 1 teaspoons cloves
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup dates, finely chopped
- 1 cup figs, stewed and chopped
- 1 1/2 cups walnuts
Instructions
- Cream together Crisco and sugar
- Beat in eggs
- Add vanilla
- Sift flour and salt
- Blend into creamed mixture
- Add remaining ingredients
- Bake at 350 degrees until done
