Mothers White Icing
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 marshmallows, cut into small pieces
- 2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
Instructions
- Dissolve sugar and water over low heat
- Bring to a boil and boil without stirring until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a soft ball
- Remove from heat
- Add marshmallows and allow to melt
- Pour mixture slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites beating constantly
- Add lemon juice
