Mocha Brownie Bars

Ingredients

  • ½ cup margarine or butter, melted
  • 1 (14-ounce) can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk (NOT evaporated milk)
  • ¼ cup coffee-flavored liqueur or 2 teaspoons instant coffee dissolved in 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup biscuit baking mix
  • ½ cup Hershey's Cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. In large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except nuts; mix well.
  3. Stir in nuts if desired.
  4. Spread into greased 13x9-inch baking pan.
  5. Bake 25 minutes or until brownies begin to pull away from sides of pan.
  6. Cool.
  7. Frost with Mocha Frosting.
  8. Cut into bars.
  9. Store covered at room temperature.

Mocha Frosting:

  1. In saucepan, over low heat, melt 3 tablespoons margarine or butter.
  2. Stir in 3 tablespoons Hershey's Cocoa, 1 tablespoon warm water and 1 tablespoon coffee-flavored liqueur or 2 teaspoons instant coffee dissolved in 1 tablespoon warm water.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Gradually beat in 1½ cups confectioners' sugar.
  5. Add additional warm water if needed.
