Martha's Meringue


  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 egg whites
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • vanilla


  1. Mix 1 T cornstarch, 1 T water.
  2. ½ cup water - add, cook until thick & clear, cool.
  3. Beat until thick - 3 egg whites, 6 T sugar
  4. Add vanilla & cooled thickening to egg whites. Spread & brown as usual.
