Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup hot milk
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
Instructions
- In a large bowl beat the eggs until lemon color
- Slowly beat in sugar and vanilla
- Stir in flour and baking powder
- Slowly beat in hot milk, melted butter and salt
- Bake in 13" x 9" greased pan at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes
COOK’S NOTES
- Use this as a base for strawberry shortcake
- Assemble with sliced sugar berries and whipped cream
