Ham Cheese Chowder Recipe

- 1 cup coarsely shredded carrots
- ¼ cup chopped onion
- ¼ cup butter or oleo
- 3 tbsp flour
- 4 cups milk
- 1½ cups finely diced ham
- ½ tsp celery seed
- ½ tsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup sharp [process] american cheese cut in cubes
- In large saucepan cook carrots & onion in butter until tender, but not brown.
- Blend in flour, add milk & cook till thickened & bubbly, stirring often.
- Stir in diced ham, celery seed & worcestershire, heat through.
- Add cheese & stir till melted.
- Serve immediately or reheat on low.
