Grandmas Molasses Banana Bread
Yield: 1 loaf

Grandma's Molasses Banana Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup GRANDMA'S MOLASSES Gold Label
  • 3 large bananas, mashed (about 2 cups)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • Optional: 1/2 teaspoon each finely grated orange rind and ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Heat oven 350 degrees
  2. Cream butter
  3. Beat in egg, molasses, and banana
  4. Mix in remaining ingredients just until blended
  5. Pour into greased and floured 9" x 5" loaf pan
  6. Bake in 350-degree oven for 50 - 60 minutes
  7. Cool on wire rack

Grandmas Molasses Banana Bread (VRP 200)

Ingredients

  • 3 large bananas, mashed (about 2 cups)
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup chopped walnuts

OPTIONAL:

  • ½ teaspoon each finely grated orange rind and ground nutmeg

Instructions

Heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter. Beat in egg, molasses and banana. Mix in remaining ingredients just until blended. Pour into greased and floured 9" x 5" loaf pan. Bake in 350°F oven 50-60minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
