Grandma's Molasses Banana Bread
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 cup GRANDMA'S MOLASSES Gold Label
- 3 large bananas, mashed (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- Optional: 1/2 teaspoon each finely grated orange rind and ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Heat oven 350 degrees
- Cream butter
- Beat in egg, molasses, and banana
- Mix in remaining ingredients just until blended
- Pour into greased and floured 9" x 5" loaf pan
- Bake in 350-degree oven for 50 - 60 minutes
- Cool on wire rack

Grandmas Molasses Banana Bread (VRP 200)
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 cup GRANDMA'S MOLASSES Gold Label
- 3 large bananas, mashed (about 2 cups)
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
OPTIONAL:
- ½ teaspoon each finely grated orange rind and ground nutmeg
Instructions
Heat oven to 350°F. Cream butter. Beat in egg, molasses and banana. Mix in remaining ingredients just until blended. Pour into greased and floured 9" x 5" loaf pan. Bake in 350°F oven 50-60minutes. Cool on wire rack. Makes 1 loaf.
