Golden Rice

Golden Rice


  • 2 tablespoons salad oil
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup uncooked long-grain white rice
  • ¼ teaspoon turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 can (13¾ or 14 oz) chicken broth


  1. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, heat oil.
  2. Add onion, rice, turmeric and salt; saute, stirring occasionally, 3 minutes.
  3. Add chicken broth to saucepan; bring to boiling.
  4. Reduce heat to low; simmer, covered, 15 to 20 minutes, or until rice is tender and all liquid is absorbed.
