
Ginger Snaps

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup shortening
- 4 tablespoons molasses
- 1 egg
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
- 1 teaspoon cloves, ground
- 1 teaspoon ginger, ground
Instructions
- Cream sugar and shortening
- Add the egg and molasses
- Beat well
- Sift the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger
- Add to the creamed mixture
- Beat well until smooth
- Roll into small balls, about the size of a walnut
- Dip into granulated sugar
- Place the cookie dough balls a few inches apart on a greased cookie sheet
- Bake at 375 degrees for 5 - 7 minutes
