German Chocolate Flip Cake Recipe

German Chocolate Flip Cake

German Chocolate Flip Cake

Cook Time: 30 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 package Pillsbury Plus German Chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 3 eggs

Topping

  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup oleo
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 1/2 cup small marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup nuts, chopped

Instructions

Cake

  1. In a large bowl blend all the cake ingredients until moistened
  2. Beat for 2 minutes at the highest speed

Topping

  1. In a small saucepan heat the water and oleo until melted
  2. Remove from heat and stir in brown sugar until dissolved
  3. Pour evenly into pans
  4. Sprinkle coconut evenly over brown sugar mixture in pans
  5. Spread marshmallows over coconut and add the chopped nuts
  6. Spread cake mixture over this and bake
  7. Grease and flour 9" cake pans
  8. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
  9. Cool layers completely
  10. Place together on place with topping side up
