Fudge Squares
Yield: 2 dozen

Fudge Squares


  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter
  • 2 squares chocolate
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup broken nuts
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. baking powder


  1. Sift and measure flour, chop nuts, put chocolate in top of double boiler, melt.
  2. Add butter, remove from fire.
  3. Beat eggs well, beat sugar in, combine flour, salt, and baking powder, add chocolate and butter to egg mixture.
  4. Add chopped nuts and extract. Pour into greased floured sheet pan ½ inch thick.
  5. Bake 20 to 30 min. 350.
  6. Cut in sq. while warm.
