Frosted Pecans

Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 5 minutes
Additional Time: 4 hours
Total Time: 4 hours 15 minutes

Ingredients

  • ½ cup dairy sour cream
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 1½ teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 cups pecan halves

Instructions

  1. Combine sour cream, sugar, and vanilla in a 2-quart heavy saucepan.
  2. Cook to soft ball stage (234 degrees), stirring frequently to prevent scorching.
  3. Add pecans and stir to coat.
  4. Turn onto a buttered baking sheet and separate with 2 forks.
  5. Package and freeze in airtight containers, if you like.

Notes

Makes about 1¼ pounds.

Thanks so much for the Frosted Pecans recipe! I used to make them from about 1981-1986 or so & wanted to make them this year, but couldn't find my recipe card.
