Dutch Apple Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup Crisco
  • apples, sliced
  • Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling on top prior to baking

Instructions

  1. Mix and sift and work in 1/4 cup Crisco
  2. Bake in shallow pan and cover top with sliced apples pushed into batter
  3. Sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon
  4. Serve with a sauce
