
Creole Pralines
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/4 pound butter
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 4 cups pecan halves
- 1 cup milk
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients except the nuts in a heavy saucepan
- Cook for 20 minutes stirring constantly after the boil is reached
- Add the pecans and continue cooking until mixture forms a soft balls when dropped in cold water
- Arrange several sheets of wax paper over layers of newspaper
- Stir the praline mixture well
- Drop by tablespoons on the wax paper
- Let cool then stack the pralines in airtight container with wax paper between layers
