Coffee Cake Recipe

Coffee Cake
Ingredients
- 1 yeast cake
- 1/2 cup luke warm water
- 1 pint milk
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter and lard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 2 cups flour + 4 cup flour
- Melted butter
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
Instructions
- 1 cake yeast dissolved in ½ cup luke warm water.
- Scald 1 pt. milk.
- When cool add 1 cup sugar, ½ cup butter & lard, 1 t. salt, 2 eggs beaten.
- Add yeast & 2 cups flour.
- Let this raise until light, then add 4 cups flour.
- Knead.
- Let rise until light.
- Put in pans and let rise again until light.
- Spread carefully with melted butter.
- Sprinkle over sugar and cinnamon and bake 350° for 45 min.
