Coconut Cookies Recipe

- ½ cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1½ cups packed dark-brown sugar
- All-purpose flour
- 2 eggs
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- 1¼ cups chopped nuts
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- Cream butter.
- Add ½ cup sugar and 1⅓ cups flour.
- Mix and press into buttered 11" x 7" pan.
- Bake in moderate oven (350°F.) 20 minutes.
- Mix eggs, salt, 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons flour and baking powder.
- Mix well and add nuts.
- Spread evenly over the partially baked mixture.
- Sprinkle with coconut.
- Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
- Cut in bars while warm.
