Cocoa Cake With Salad Dressing
Ingredients
Cake Batter
- 2 cups flour, sifted before measuring
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 3 tablespoons cocoa (firmly packed)
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup salad dressing (Miracle Whip or Mayonnaise)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Frosting
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 cups confectioners sugar
Instructions
Cake Batter
- Sift the flour, baking soda, and cocoa 5 times
- Mix the sugar, cold water, and salad dressing
- Add vanilla
- Mix the dressing mixture to the flour mixture
- Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes
- Cool
Caramel Frosting
- Combing brown sugar, butter, and milk
- Bring to a boil
- Cook over low heat for 3 minutes
- Cool
- Stir in confectioners sugar
- Beat thoroughly
- Spread on cake
