Every once and a while you can find a good cookbook with Vintage Recipes on Amazon. I don’t have any recommendations as I haven’t bought any as I prefer the handwritten recipes that you see on our site.
Chocolate Pinwheels Recipe

Combine and beat thoroughly-
- ½ cup spry
- ¾ tsp. salt
- 1 unbeaten egg
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1½ cups flour
- ½ tsp. soda
- Divide dough in half.
- Add 1½ oz. melted chocolate.
- Roll to ½" thickness.
- Place chocolate sheet on top of vanilla.
- Roll up.
- Chill in refrigerator overnight.
- Cut, bake in 375 F. 8-10 minutes.
