Cherries and Cherry Jelly (VRP 001)


Canned Cherries

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 parts sugar
  • 1 part water

Cherry Jelly

  • 4 cups cherry juice
  • 7 cups sugar
  • 1/2 bottle Certo
  • Paraffin


Canned Cherries

  1. Cook enough cherries for 1 quart can in 1 cup water until done
  2. Put in hot sterilized can and fill immediately with boiling syrup (2 parts sugar and 1 part water) and seal

Cherry Jelly

  1. Combine the hot cherry juice and sugar
  2. Boil hard for 2 minutes
  3. Add the Certo and boil hard for 2 minutes
  4. Pour into canning jars and place paraffin on top
