- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cup water
- 6 slices of toasted bread
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 1/2 cup grated or sliced cheese
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Caramelize sugar, add water and cinnamon, and boilt until sugar is dissolved
- Place a layer of bread in a casserole; add cheese and raisins
- Repeat until all ingredients are used
- Add butter
- Pour syrup over mixture and bake in moderate oven until the syrup is all absorbed by bread
