Butter Pecan Cake

Butter Pecan Cake

Cook Time: 40 minutes
Total Time: 40 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup pecans, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Add sugars, baking powder, and salt to flour
  2. Stir to mix well
  3. Add shortening and 3/4 cup milk
  4. Mix for 2 minutes
  5. Add remaining milk, eggs, and vanilla
  6. Beat for 2 minutes
  7. Stir in nuts
  8. Make 2 x 9" layers or a 9" x 13" loaf
  9. Bake at 375 degrees
