Butter Frosting

Butter Frosting

This frosting holds very well. It is excellent for frosting cakes to be stored in the food freezer.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cream or top milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Cream together the sugar, margarine, and salt in a large bowl
  2. Add cream slowly
  3. Add vanilla
  4. When all the ingredients are creamed together, increase speed on electric mixer and continue beating for 5 minutes
  5. Spread frosting on cake with spatula
