Growing up in the South, brittle was often seen around the holidays. Buckets of brittle from our local candy shops with the family favorites of peanut brittle and pecan brittle (my favorite).

What is Brittle?

Brittle is a type of confection consisting of flat broken pieces of hard sugar candy embedded with nuts such as pecans, almonds, or peanuts, which are usually less than 1 cm thick.
