Bread Pudding

Bread Pudding (VRP 096)


  • 1 qt milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups bread cubes
  • 1-3 cup sugar
  • ¼ cup melted butter
  • ½ cup raisins


  1. Scald milk, add bread crumbs & soak 15 min.
  2. Add sugar & salt to slightly beaten eggs & mix well.
  3. Add milk & bread mixture then melted butter & raisins.
  4. ____ & pour into greased baking dish.
  5. Set in larger pan of water & bake in slow oven of 325 to 350° for 1½ hr.
  6. Two squares of chocolate may be melted & added to egg and sugar mixture if desired.
