Blond Brownies Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 2/3 cups sifted flour
- 2½ teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2/3 cup shortening
- 1 pound brown sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 package (6 ounce) chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°.
- Grease 15 x 10-inch cake pan.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt.
- Melt shortening in saucepan; add brown sugar and blend; cool 10 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in sifted dry ingredients, chocolate chips and nuts until evenly mixed.
- Pour into pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Cut while slightly warm.
