- 8 pounds black figs (ground)
- 12 pounds sugar
- 6 gallons boiling water
- 2 yeast cakes
- Pour boiling water over figs and sugar and still well
- The next day put in 2 cakes of yeast and stir every morning for 2 weeks then strain and bottle
