Black Bottom Cupcakes

Black Bottom Cupcakes


  • 1½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 5 tbs. cooking oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp soda
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbs cider vinegar


  • 1 pkg (8 oz) cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • 1 pkg (6 oz) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • chopped nuts (optional)


  1. Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, soda & salt.
  2. Add water, cooking oil, cider vinegar & vanilla, stirring until smooth.
  3. Fill 18 cupcake [holders] half full.
  4. Stir together filling ingredients in order [quick].
  5. Top each cupcake with 1 tablespoon filling & sprinkle with nuts [as] desired.
  6. Bake in 350° for 25 minutes.
