Big Mamas Tea Cakes

Big Mama's Tea Cakes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. __ margarine in large mixing bowl for 30 seconds
  2. Add 1/4 cups sugar and vanilla, beat until fluffy
  3. Add eggs beat well
  4. Stir together flour, baking soda, & salt in a mixing bowl.
  5. Add to beaten mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  6. Drop by rounded tsp onto a greased sheet.
  7. Sprinkle with sugar. bake in a 350° oven for 10 to 12 min or until lightly browned on the edges.
  8. Makes about 45 cookies.
