
Beef Tomato and Cabbage Scallop

Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 2 1/2 cups tomatoes
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 4 cups cabbage, chopped
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in shortening
- Add the onion and celery
- Cook for 5 minutes
- Add the tomatoes, salt, and pepper
- Bring the tomatoes to a boil
- Place alternate layers of cabbage and beef mixture in buttered 2 quart baking dish
- Top with the bread crumbs
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40 - 45 minutes
