Beef Noodle Bake

Beef Noodle Bake

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 8-oz. can tomato sauce
  • ⅓ cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green pepper
  • 4 cups (8 ozs.) noodles, cooked, drained
  • ½ lb. VELVEETA Pasteurized Process Cheese Spread, cubed

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown meat; drain.
  2. Add sauce, onions and peppers; mix well.
  3. Cover; simmer 5 minutes.
  4. Layer noodles, process cheese spread and meat mixture in 1½-quart casserole; cover.
  5. Bake at 350°, 40 minutes.
  6. Top with additional process cheese spread, sliced, if desired.

Microwave:

  1. Crumble meat into 1-quart microwave-safe bowl; stir in onions and peppers.
  2. Microwave on High 5 to 6 minutes, stirring after 3 minutes; drain. Stir in sauce; microwave on High 2 minutes.
  3. Layer noodles, process cheese spread and meat mixture in 1½-quart microwave-safe casserole.
  4. Cover with plastic wrap; vent.
  5. Microwave on High 2 to 3 minutes or until thoroughly heated.
  6. Top with additional process cheese spread, sliced, if desired.

Notes

Preparation time: 15 minutes

Baking time: 40 minutes

Variation: Substitute 2 cups (7 ozs.) elbow macaroni, cooked, drained, for 4 cups noodles.
