Barbecued Spare Ribs

Barbecued Spare Ribs


  • 3 pounds spareribs

Frenchwise Barbecue Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 meidum onion minced (or crush 1 tablespoon French's Onion Flakes)
  • 1 small green pepper minced (or crush 1 tablespoon French's Pepper Flakes)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons French's Prepared Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon French's Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup ketchup


  1. Roast 3 lb.s spareribs in very hot oven (500°F.) for 10-15 minutes.
  2. Reduce heat to moderate 325°F.
  3. Roast 1½ hours, basting every 15 minutes, with sauce made by mixing 1 cup vinegar and 3 tbsp. each of lemon juice, French's Worcestershire Sauce, brown sugar.
  4. Serve with:

  1. Combine ingredients and simmer 15 minutes.
