I love when these old recipe cards have the stains and smeared ink marks. (Although at the time it makes it hard to transcribe the recipes to share with you.)
COOK NOTES
- There is not a measurement for the milk and with most biscuit recipes the liquid can be anywhere from 1/2 cup to over 1 full cup.
- The author didn’t include the method so I improvised.
- For the baking temperature and length, I will have to experiment and report back to you as biscuit temperatures vary from a moderate oven to a hot oven.

Baking Powder Biscuit
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 4 level teaspoons baking powder
- 1 - 2 tablespoons lard
- milk
Instructions
- Sift flour, baking soda, and baking powder
- Cut in the flour mixture the lard and then the milk
