Every once and a while you can find a good cookbook with Vintage Recipes on Amazon. I don’t have any recommendations as I haven’t bought any as I prefer the handwritten recipes that you see on our site.

Audrey's Neighbor's Cheese Pie

Audrey's Neighbor's Cheese Pie (VRP 350)


  • 1 crumb crust (9 inches) or 1 baked pastry shell (9 in) cooled
  • 1 pkg 8 oz. Borden's Cream Cheese
  • 1 1/3 cups (15 oz. can) Borden's Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1/3 cup fresh or bottled lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon van. extract
  • 1 can (1 lb. 6 oz.) cherry pie filling or cherry glaze


Soften Borden's Smooth velvety cream cheese to room temperature whip until fluffy.
Grad. add Borden's milk.
Beat until well blended
Add lemon juice and vanilla extract
Blend well
Pour into crust
Chill 2 or 3 hours before spreading cherry glaze or pie filling if preferred
Cherry glaze
Blend ½ cup cherry juice
2 tablespoons sugar and teaspoon corn starch
Cook stirring continually until thickened and clear
Add food coloring
If desired, add 1 cup drained pitted cherries
Garnish top of pie with them
