Applesauce Bread Pudding Recipe

Applesauce Bread Pudding
Ingredients
- 3 cups dry bread cubes (3 slices)
- 1½ cups applesauce
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- Dash nutmeg
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 eggs lightly beaten
- 2 cups milk
- ½ cup sugar
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- Dash salt
- Garnish: Cinnamon
Instructions
- In buttered 8" square pan spread half the bread crumbs.
- Combine applesauce, cinnamon & nutmeg.
- Spread over bread cubes.
- Layer with remaining bread cubes.
- Dot with butter.
- Combine eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla & salt.
- Pour over bread mixture.
- Lightly sprinkle with cinnamon to garnish.
- Bake at 350° until knife inserted just off center comes out clean, approximately 55 to 60 minutes.
- Serve plain or with cream.

Makes 6 servings.
